Lisa Berkey Penn State University

Lisa Berkey is the Director of Design and Construction at Penn State University and is responsible for oversight of the capital design and construction program. She is a registered professional engineer with over thirty years of experience in facilities engineering and management. She has been instrumental in the University’s efforts to improve design and construction acquisition and reporting strategies and is committed to continuous quality improvement at Penn State. Lisa led the development and implementation of the Penn State Project Delivery System and project front end loading. Prior to her current position, Lisa served as a Penn State Project Manager for sixteen years, and was responsible for overseeing the design and construction of new building and renovation projects on campus. During that time, she administered the new $110 million Chemistry and Life Sciences Buildings, which extended the science sub-campus within the core area of the University Park Campus and transformed Shortlidge Road into a pedestrian mall. In addition, she led development of the new $215 Millennium Science Complex. Lisa practiced engineering in the private sector prior to joining Penn State University. She has served on the COAA Board of Directors since January 2011 and is actively involved in the COAA Pennsylvania Chapter. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree from Penn State University.
